Reasons Why You Will Never Leave Your Job!

Ever wondered why no matter how much you complained about things whether it is the economy, your job or your job you never take action? Well, for the most part, is either laziness, fear of the unknown or rather circumstances beyond your control. The economy has messed up with our brains so much that even the unhealthiest workplace is seen as a Calvary. No matter how we complain or disgruntled we feel we still woke up, clean up, wear our best clothes and show up. Not because you love it but because we have no choice as it is of means of survival.

Best excuses I have heard so far:

"Things might get better."

"Everywhere else is just as bad."

"Quitting my job will look bad on my CV."

"I might not get another job."

Lately the Ministry of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting reviewed minimum wages per month for domestic workers as follows:

This outrageous review brought some things into perspective, a whole ministry sat down came up to that conclusion. Then you look at yourself can everything get worse than that, instead of actually taking action you see yourself lucky to have whatever you have that takes care of the bills. The reason why you never will never leave your job is that the world around you keeps reminding you the devil you know is better than the one you don’t know. It is because the circumstances around us have nurtured us to be loudmouth when it comes to complaining but curl to a corner when it is time to take action. Because remember action has some huge consequences. Rather than creating your own opportunities we see a job as salvation to all our problems. Waiting for some people to sit down and discuss what number of zeros that should be on your paycheck. Sad reality

We tell ourselves to work hard, but really sometimes is it not enough. Being reliable is not enough. Showing up is not enough. A typical 9 to 5 routine is not an achievement in case you didn’t know. Finding time to squeeze some TV shows or scroll your social media isn’t enough. And the next day you back at it again. A cycle of mental laziness to break unhealthy habits. So I was thinking what about you try something new. I don’t know the statics but people who are doing their own hustle but I’m sure 100% of the time they are earning more. What about cultivating a mentality of husting your own buns! Hustling for your own self development and personal growth

A habit done consistently becomes a routine that changes your mentality to strive to achieve more success. Always ask yourself how can I get better and what goals am I going to crush next. Never, I repeat Never, lose sight of your goals. If you actively add value to yourself you will benefit, it takes:

  • Commitment, time becomes valuable and the more time you invest in yourself and spend time on your goals. Remember people only notice consistency and it can be achieved through commitment.
  •  Consistency in thoughts and actions. Fuel your aspirations to have creativity and ideas flowing. People notice consistency not announcements. Don’t be all talk but no action.
  •  Efficiency, you figure out what works best and what doesn’t. What to cut out of your routine and what to do. Sacrificing things that will not help you become the person you are striving to be. Ask yourself the hard questions: Will binge watching series help you get those business ideas rolling? Well, I don’t think so.

If you don’t have that moment of self-evaluation once in a while. Guess what? You will never leave that job, and neither hard work to impress your boss or being reliable to be named an employee of the month will ever bring you the satisfaction you yearn for until reevaluate how it is adding to your growth. Well, I’m just saying, I hope I didn’t creep you out. Until next time!
