We Are Only But Pawns In A Game Of Chase

Image
📷 Apaha Spi Broken dreams, broken souls We are all a mess, a fallen generation We bleed, but nobody cares Somehow it is our fault We cry, nobody listens All they care about is more coin in their pockets We’re only but pawns In a game, we cannot fathom Our pain in their eyes is unnecessary drama, Our sorrow gives them an adrenaline rush, Our struggle is their entertainment They thrive from our sweat, blood and tears As it pours, so does coin drop in their pockets Every dime we earn they find ways to chuff it To them it is change, to us, it is means of survival Greedy grim reapers are what they are Always scheming of ways to suck the last coin out of us The pain inflicted by the people we traded for our hope and future It worsens by the day, but we continue to sing songs of hope It is not by choice, it is a survival instinct The thought of better days is what is keeping us sane, Nowhere to turn, refuge is the new slave To stay and

Reasons Why I am Pro-Choice!

📷 Simphie Thoughts Great minds work together, great minds collaborate. Great minds find beauties and appreciate them. Okay enough with the big words, what I am simply saying is we have a guest blogger today 🤗 . Be nice okay and of course enjoy the different touch and the wise words.  You know how lately there’s been that buzz about abortion (Pro-life vs Pro-choice) going crazy on social and mass media. It only seemed fitting that I share my two pieces on the issue. The thing about these things is that you can’t be neutral about it; you have to make a decision and my decision that I am Pro-choice. Now before those who are Pro-life attack me, hear me out. It really is like that sometimes, not everyone is going to want to enter the world of parenthood. There are several circumstances that have to be taken into consideration. Mental and Emotional stability of the woman Let’s be honest, you really can’t be a good parent when you are  not  mentally or emotionall

I am A Whirlwind

Image
I huff and puff but you only see me from a distance You feel pity for others but you never dream I will pick you up. I am a whirlwind, I grow slowly lifting only the gravel. You see me from a 10mile radius, I leave you a little shaken but not enough to move away. I am a whirlwind I move by the wind so you will never see me coming. Before you know it, I am there like a cool summer breeze that creates humour by lifting girls’ skirts. Harmless as I may seem don’t take me for granted because remember I am a whirlwind. Suddenly I gain momentum and before you know you are in the sky no control of your life, I am spinning the life out of you and just as you are about to give upon life, I drop you without remorse leaving you to die with broken bones. I am a whirlwind and like my name I move with the wind so don’t think I will wait with remorse to help you lick your wounds; I am onto my next 10-mile radius. I am a whirlwind.

Pop-Up Relatives

Image
📷 Jamie Street What’s up with relatives that show up after you have made it?   Unexpected message notifications can be an awkward moment. The “I’m your first cousin, uncle or aunt” can be hard to deal with. It leaves one with mixed feelings, whether to be excited or expect the worst.  You start thinking if they have ulterior motives or it is just a social call. The feeling of what I see my future with them is numb. Well! They only Pop-up when you have something going in your life when your career is ascending or business is booming.  Is it by pure coincidence? The pop-up notification is a call to gratify their greedy appetite. It is really annoying as much is it emotionally draining. Only to be useful when people want a good turn or a hangout. It happens more often than most expect. And there is usually a “blood of thicker than water” song to make their request more compelling. As a human if people treat me like I am worthless, it is a reflex to cut them off – I

Just So You Know Self-Pity Is Not Attractive & It's Hella Corny!

Recently, I threw myself a pity party, I invited anxiety, narrow mindedness and over-thinking to join the festivities. If you say you never did, it is lying or rather you are the rare case out of a 100. Forbidden fruit in the garden that no one touches. My point is we have all been to one, either as the h ost or gate crashers. It clutches the life left in you, rendering you weak and negotiating with the dreadful news. A horrible boss? Bad break up? That silence filled 10 seconds before that HIV or pregnancy test? Either way, for whatever reason your mind magnifies it to be. A small speck in the eye, a tiny misunderstanding over sanity and productivity! What would you choose? Life doesn’t give choices. Hmmm, so they say! Logical or emotional? Responding or Reacting? What would you choose? But alas, life ebbs and flows, and though life floods us countless times but dealt carefully it can be washed away in an instant. Swim with me, a few words that carry deeply embedded

Welcome, everyone to the first ever At The Crossroads which is based on people and narratives that inspire (d) me. At The Crossroads, stands for exploring deeper meaning than looking at the surface. It all about taking a different perspective, so it just me looking at stories that speak to me, motivate and inspire me. We tend to just follow what other people are doing but never do we stop and appreciate what they do, lessons to take away and redefine the known. So take a sit, have an open mind and let's explore! #Read It Out Now that we have acquainted ourselves with the new column. Let's get into it! Today I'm shining a light on Partice Washington   if you don't know you better start googling. But after you finish reading this article of course (wink).  "With any habit, you want to form or break. It is all about shifting, first of all, what you say about yourself because most of it is a story you made up anyways. So all you have to do is change the
