Self-Confidence: Spread Some Good Vibes!
What really is self-confidence? I asked a couple of people to get a sense of how self-confidence speaks to them and how it is related to performance. Here is a snippet of what they said:
“Self-confidence is the trust one has in their own abilities and qualities. It is important yeah…as a contributor to success but it is not everything.”
“Possibly the more self-confident one is the better they perfume. But there is a limit to everything and every relationship.”
“Self-confidence would be the ability to pick yourself up from nervousness. Being able to use everything that’s screaming that you can’t or shouldn’t as fuel.”
“Confidence when I am about to perform gets me up to meet the crowd head-on. It also keeps me going either when the energy is low or high. It is like an espresso in the morning. It is a JumpStart to unlock levels of communication and interaction.”
Self-confidence is believing is one-self, being possible or sure that this is who I am this is what I do and I’m going to stick with it.”
“Self-confidence is shown in the way you act out. We can see it through performance it is a sought of a measure.”
"Self-confidence is being at peace with yourself (unbothered), be content with who you are and not being defined by people or objects. Owning your identity that is confidence to me.”
Now that is out of the way, let’s get right into it. Confidence is a quality that is present or absent in every human. It is either you have it or not. Thoughts, behaviors and feelings, these are drawn from self-confidence. It basically defines how you live. To be comfortable in your own skin, grounded in self-love and love others regardless of divisions, jealousy, and judgment. Being who you are and focus on what you have to offer the world.
It is all about individualism if you are confident in your life that is only you can be able to inspire confidence in others. It is possible to show others their potential and goodness, differences know no boundaries. In case you didn’t know you can be genuinely happy and proud of others when they do better than you. Transparency becomes embedded in you, you are able to reach out even if others judge you for doing so. Inspire, motivate and make a change. Only when you know true self-confidence that is when you can spread it to better others. We can’t share what we don’t know, isn’t?
Killer Actions To Boost Your Self-Confidence
- Visualize yourself as who you want to be. See the image of the person you are becoming, you are proud of in your mind. Have a good perception of YOU.
- Affirm yourself, because no one will. Tell yourself positive and uplifting words. Say it out loud if it helps. “You can do it.” “You are isssh, the bomb.” We tend to believe what we tell ourselves constantly.
- Take risks, face your fears. The best way to overcome fear is to face head-on, unmoved.
- Teach people to respect your boundaries. Have control of your own life, the greater will be your self-confidence. “Givers need to set boundaries and limits because takers rarely do.” Rachel Wolchin
So go out there, believe in yourself and be open and willing to try new things. If you feel confident, you are able to devote your resources to self-advancement. If you feel good, you perform better.
