4 Things That You Should Trash In The Next 21 Days!

Image
The ultimate excuse has always been  I don't have time . Whether it's time to spend with your loved ones, time to pursue your dreams, time to process things and put them into perspective. Time to explore and take risks. Well! You have plenty of time now! Depressing it may seem but this #21DaysLockDown is a blessing in disguise. That's depending on how you use it! Here are some toxic traits and situationships you should work yourself out of in the next 21 days: 'Secure the bag' Secure means fixed or fastened so as not to give away, become loose, or be lost. The whole point of having money to use, give and invest, right? Life is too short and money ain't gonna buy you more time. You are the bag you should invest in your talents,  learn new skills, ask for advice and find a mentor. That way you are equipped to have your money work for you than secure the little you have. Cultivate the zeal to grow and break out of your comfort zones. Stop looking f

Trying To Be A Man Is A Waste of Woman

Image
It’s like a beautiful glare each time we cast our eyes their way, something to live for, something to appreciate. What on earth could be more delicate, special and precious than a gem? Undermined but yet full of potential. We appreciate the direction we are taking, the element of treating women as second citizens. It's fading away like the morning mist which diffuses into thinner air as the day lapses.  Now everything is put at par and much recognition is put to honor the good cause of equality. What else could we have asked for, all that they bring is joy and serenity? They have the power to incubate naturally and give life. So my oration then defines a woman as an epitome of care and love, soft and vulnerable but strong and vibrant. Today I would love to take this opportunity to appreciate the female version of humankind for they are the source of pride in all our lives. If you give a woman anything raw or half-done she will definitely make something worth appreciati

Her Voice, Her Pride!

Once upon a time, she was born.  Tiny hands, perky cheeks, full with a glow of hope. Ambition in the firm grip of her fist. This is no folklore, gather around! But if you are expecting yet another no close to reality story, kindly Exit. Or looking for a story for gags kindly hit EXIT. Or looking for entertainment follow your uncles to the Left, to the Left. Yeah, I'm using first-person because I stand as a voice for women. I own every word, unadulterated and unapologetically. Pretty big shoes to fill but my ambition and voice are just enough. I gotta practice what I preach right! So imagine me! Curly hair, an afro crown I have earned.  With a firm fist shot in the sky. A belly full of words. A vision of what women can become. I might tremble at my first word Quiver when I stand Discouraged at my first effort But guess what? Each step harness the power from within Practice makes perfect. So who are you to judge!? Hear me! Why Asking Questions In Life Is The Only Skill You Really Need

Image
Who, when, why, what now!? (Chuckles), hold it. Have you ever discovered that if you think things through, life is a series of comprehensive questions? They either guide us somewhere or give us the power of knowledge. It takes me back two decades ago when I was born, the first thing my grandmother asked when I brought into this world was, is it a boy or a girl? Looking back, the series of questions guided my every step. I remember in kindergarten the first question the teacher asked me , “What do you want to be when you grow up?” It brought a lot of perspective to things as I gradually started to paint a portrait of how questions bring meaning to life. When human beings are at their remarkable level of sanity, before they solely make a decision there is always that inner voice with a long list of questions. The classic ones are always, the why, the when and the what? It takes the skill of understanding, planning and also a vision to be able to give reasons to support actions.

If You Don't Empower The Girl Child Now, So When?

You knew it could burn but stretched arm's length for an embrace. You felt the heat inside out, Heart Burn! But, you still basked in its full blaze. You knew it was a trap wrapped in good aesthetics, A beautiful painting hung to sway you in. I gotta give it to you, you got a big heart, Enough to go around even where it's not wanted. So do you cry or scold yourself when the pain it's self-inflicted? How do you tell your story? Do you complain? Do you ask for help? It feels like you are stuck between a rock and a hard place. 'You got yourself into this.' 'You got yourself into this.' Runs an emotional race at the back of your mind. Now, these 7 words make you feel ashamed & not worthy crying out for help. You repeat it to yourself to put you to sleep. A lullaby self-composed, 'You got yourself into this.' "Always follow your instinct." Why didn't you follow your instinct? Ooh, yo

Ishvi: It's Not Just A Name, It's A Brand!

📸Elijah O'Donnell Reflecting on life, isn’t it an interesting thing? We all get equal chances to be new to the world and have a name tag on us. People celebrate the addition of a new member, empty yet full of life and a bright future. The journey of building your own brand begins with just your Name. That choice by your loved ones and the creation of an extraordinary image you build compliments the name.  My name is Ishvi and it means to be equal. My name appeared to be an alien to thyself either but, I gave myself time to understand what it really means and how it molds my true personality of the Brand Ishvi . Common sense with a bit of sanity kicked in and then I got motivated to write and design my own brand. It's full of good deeds, resilience and hard work for the Brand Ishvi to equal Success. I understand some of us don’t even know what their names mean. My case was different I have a name that gives a directive to be complete but the most important thing h

What The Corporate World Have Taught Me!

Going into the working environment is exciting and intriguing. The first time I was initiated into the club I had beaming hopes of how I was going to conquer the world. In my mind I thought what could really go wrong, it is just waking up and working right? But a thrilling horror awaited me, I realized that passing school, landing a job and being punctual to work was not going to cut it for me to last a day. Just like driving a car, the most dangerous thing to look out for is other drivers surrounding you. Meaning no matter how good of a driver you are, if you don't look out for those around you, you are good as dead. The same applies to the corporate world, you have to face whatever that is thrown at you. From different toxic characters or workmates, being taken advantage of, own self-destruction or other unexpected challenges are thrown at you daily. Well, I have had my fair share and it's highly likely I will keep on having fist wars until I'm five foot under. A
