A Little Push Wouldn't Hurt If You Try!

In Her Thoughts: A Little Push Wouldn't Hurt If You Try!

Often times than most, we seek easy gratification to our untiring hunger. Simple and clear 1 2 3 instructions, still some find it hard to just sit down, read, process and then act. Because of our need to fast track things we skip the important insights in the rush to get it over with. There is a difference between getting over with something and a great finish. It doesn't make sense to rush things through and do substandard work all in the name of wanting to be done with it. The difference is in the execution, it is key!

Whether it's laziness or it's just not caring enough to do work thoroughly, only you would know. I'm in this employment group, many or at least a considerable amount of job opportunities pour in. That's a good thing. We are flourishing.  Whoop whoop! But, yes there is but, it troubles me how come there are still many people who join the group. One day it dawned me. As usual, people forwarded new opportunities, and people feast with a hope for a call or an email. But one girl, in particular, came back rather dissatisfied, armed with a screenshot. Which by the way has become dangerous than nuclear in our generation. Her claim was the job opportunity was spam and the email bounced. Funny thing when I opened the screenshot, she had misspelled a few words. Just a simple error but it blocked her from attaining a chance to stardom.

Okay, so what am I getting at? In my defense, there was a whole four-page of details with everything she needed. But just a simple mistake, well one where she could have just copied and pasted or re-read to check if every information was right. But no her first train of thought was the opportunity was bogus. Can you really blame the 'there are jobs anthem' here? Or we are missing out on the important pieces to the puzzle. It's all a pattern of a Fast and Furious race to the finish. No direction just finding shortcuts to the finish line. Whether it's a job application, text message, important email, script or any other situation where you rush through things for no reason whatsoever.

Moral lesson of the story: We have a Shona proverb that says,'Kumhanya hakusi kusvika' which translates to 'Rushing things doesn't necessarily mean you have done them right'. I hope I translated it well but you get the point right. Take time to read if you are supposed to read, listen attentively if you are ought to listen and apply with all your effort on a 100%. I have this mantra I live by 'If it's worth doing, it's worth giving your 200% effort.
